There is a minimum of three layers that should be worn when hiking in the snow, or snowboarding. The first layer of hiking apparel being a thin material mostly made of synthetic material, which is designed to absorb sweat from the body, yet keep the heat in. The second layer should be a fleece top, and then a water/ wind proof ski jacket to keep you warm and cosy in extreme conditions.
